Destroy the Icon - In Progress

I began this experiment by masking her figure. Afterwards, I used quite a few different brush tools to paint cloud-like forms. I used four different colors with varying size brushes to create this smoky cloud look around her. I blended the colors using different opacities to create depth. I wanted to depict her sort of emerging from the clouds, to emphasize her mysterious personality. I understand this is not yet a "bingo" image; simply including it here to walk you through my process. Before completely transforming her face to make the image my own, I really wanted to destroy her setting.
